Privacy Policy
SimPlay is a local-first desktop app for DJs. This policy explains what data we touch and, more importantly, what we don't. The idea is simple: your music stays with you.
The short version
- Your audio never reaches our servers. All analysis (energy, genre, key, organization) runs on your computer.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or track what you listen to.
- We only process the minimum needed for your account, subscription and model sync to exist.
What stays 100% on your device
Your audio files, the library organized by genre/energy, the classifications, the playlists, and your Google Drive/Dropbox access tokens. None of this is sent to SimPlay.
What we do process (the minimum)
- Account: your email and an identifier, to sign you in (via Firebase Authentication).
- Subscription: your subscription status (active/canceled), received from our payment provider. We never see or store your card details.
- Personal model: a small file (a few MB) with the parameters learned from your taste — it contains no audio — which we store encrypted at rest so it follows you across devices.
Audio backups (optional)
If you connect Google Drive or Dropbox, SimPlay backs up your audio directly to YOUR account on those services. The audio goes from your machine to your cloud; it never passes through us. You can disconnect it anytime from the app.
Service providers we use
- Google Firebase — account authentication.
- Google Cloud Platform — service hosting, database, and personal-model storage.
- Lemon Squeezy — payments and subscription management (it processes your payment; we don't).
- Google Drive / Dropbox — only if you connect them, and on your own account.
Each provider handles data under its own policy. We do not share your data with anyone else.
This website
simplay.app only uses your browser's local storage to remember your language. We don't use tracking cookies or advertising.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, correct it, or delete it. Deleting your account removes your account record, subscription status and personal model from our storage. Email us at support@simplay.app.
Children
SimPlay is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll change the date above and, for significant changes, notify you inside the app.
